Crafting self-organizing teams for efficient project management
Leading a project within a VUCA world — one filled with volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity — requires the shift from resisting change to seeking and embracing it. Over the last couple of years, at Selleo — a mid-sized Polish software development company — we’ve applied several concepts to react and triumph in today’s agile business environment. In this talk, I will share some innovative management techniques for building teams who are collaborative, innovative, creative and productive. Teams in which people are enthusiastic and possess a sense of ‘psychological ownership’ of their jobs.
In this interactive case study, I would like to present how we used the agile approach to create self-organising and self-managing teams. Starting with Management 3.0 tools and techniques and coaching people how to be self-organised and self-managed, we created a company without managers which is now based on the circles and roles as seen in Holacracy or Sociocracy 3.0. I will show real-life examples, explaining how to address motivation together with people engagement, a culture based on feedback and collaboration practices including agile HR solutions.
